Fishing in Southeast Oregon

Hi, all, Let me introduce myself, as this is my first post on the Oregon forum, and I'm asking for help. Before I do that, I'd like to offer to answer any questions folks may have about WA fly fishing spots, especially those in the northern half of the state. I lived in WA for 33 years, and...

Hi; I will be in Richland in the first week of June, had planned the trip around a fishing trip with the only reputed guide from there. Unfortunately for me, they cancelled the trip for personal reasons and now I'm kind of left high and dry. This is going to be an intermediate stop on the way...

Being from Eastern Oregon (EO) I've know about the Powder River for ever but wasn't sure of it's path to the Snake River. Today after googling it I saw it appeared to run through the Thief Valley Res. but couldn't find any thing about the Res. in the Synopsis. Does anyone know any thing about...

With the warming weather fishing is starting to perk up on Brownlee. The best news is that the Corp of Engineers plans to keep the reservoir at a stable level through the spring runoff. Bass fishing is picking up and some big crappie are also being caught. Not wide open fishing by any means but...

October turned out pretty good this year despite very low water levels. Landed over 18 nice ones this month even though I missed over a week and a half of fishing. Most were in the 24-26 inch range, the biggest was a 29" 9lber.

We went to Eastern Oregon. It was our 30th anniversary and we retraced parts of our original honeymoon route. It was not a fishing trip but I did put my ultralight spinning rod behind the pickup seat and packed a handful of lures and the regs just in case. (@Brandon 4455 ... Eight days and...

Fishing in an undisclosed location about 3 hours from Lakeview, I caught 214 fish in under four hours. Using jigs of various sizes, I caught fish after fish. Sadly, all of the fish were invasive and the native trout were nowhere to be found, but it was still a great day. A week before, I'd...

I went to Topsy on Saturday and ended up catching some pumkinseed, a perch, and a tui chub. I also got to test out a new rod and reel (a Zebco Crappie Fighter combo) and it worked well, especially considering the price. The pumpkinseed all bit a redworm under a weighted float, and most of them...

On Sunday, the kids and I went out to Dog Lake, and hooked into this bad boy. It hit on a Bomber 6A, and was around 15" long. All I can figure is that it is a Chub, but I've never heard of one getting that big, and I thought they were more of a golden color. Any ideas?

I haven't been to Dog Lake yet, and I really want to go there. I've been waiting, because I don't want to drive 120 miles one way, and then find out it has been ravaged by fire, and the air too smoky to breathe. Does anyone know if Dog Lake is safe and smoke-free? Also, any of the other...

I went with a buddy to a golf course here in town, and we fished from shore and from an inflatable kayak to land more than 50 fish apiece in about two hours. Numerous largemouths, and a few yellow perch and pumpkinseed made up the day's catch. None of the bass were very big (probably stunted)...
