Lakeview fire???

I haven't been to Dog Lake yet, and I really want to go there. I've been waiting, because I don't want to drive 120 miles one way, and then find out it has been ravaged by fire, and the air too smoky to breathe. Does anyone know if Dog Lake is safe and smoke-free?

Also, any of the other lakes/rivers out there. Cottonwood is another perennial favorite of mine.

Thanks for the update! Hopefully I can get over there before the weather turns! I heard that one side of the lake had everything burned around it. Do you know if this is true?

The fire burned around the South and East side of the lake, but the campground adjacent to the lake wasn't touched. There are still a few visible smokes around the lake, but nothing that keep you from having a good day on the water.
