I have not been able to fish much this year since I destroyed my shoulder back in January (torn labrum, hole in one tendon, others partially delaminated from bone). I have taken 3 trips to the Willie for bass and had good days each time catching 30 to 50 bass. I could have caught more each time...

I'm trying to understand the relationship between gage height and current/velocity. I want to get out on time Willamette but the high water makes me nervous. My assumption is that because the water is high, the current must be strong as well. Is that the case? It's hard to really see the current...

I remember fishing at the Long Tom about 12 years ago, and caught many bass. Now, I catch a lot of pike minnows. Much more pike minnows than bass. And I went to a small creek that flows into the Willamette 4 days ago, and also caught a lot of pike minnows. One was about 17 inches. plus many in...

Howdy Y'all I grew up catfishing in the Ozarks and moved out here about 7 years ago. Been trying to find catfish out here and I heard you can catch cats over in the Multnomah Channel. What suggestions would you have for locations and presentations to snatch these underwater felines?

I have a 10 ft pontoon style bass raider boat and I was wondering if a 30lbs thrust trolling motor would be enough to get me around on the willamette. It handles great on Lakes but never had it on a river. I was thinking bout above the falls cause it seems like there is less current on that part...

Cedaroak Boat Ramp | City of West Linn Oregon Official Website I went to launch there yesterday and was denied :) I launched at George Rogers and pedaled up most of the way to Cedaroak during the course of the day. There were a bunch of big cranes on barges. Looks like a big effort. I should...

I have not posted much lately but I have been having pretty good success throughout December on the sturgeon. The bite has been anywhere from insane to reasonable and has tapered a bit as the water has dipped close to 40 degrees. I decided to end 2016 with a sturgeon fishing trip. I was excited...

I have made two fishing trips in the last month, one was on October 23rd and the other on October 30th. The focus of both trips was sturgeon, although on the 23rd I spent an hour or so fishing for smallmouth and managed two that were both around a pound. These were my first trips of the season...

The Cubs win the world series.... Trump wins the presidency.... and most telling of all, I caught an upper Willamette sturgeon. Sorry for damning you all to fire and brimstone, but here is the story for you to read while you wait for the end to begin. For years I have repeatedly tried to...

I had a really great day on Sunday. It was not the most fish I have ever caught nor the biggest but it was definitely up there with one of my favorite days on the Willamette ever. I was on the water and fishing by around 7:15. It was a dark, drizzly morning that just screamed smallmouth to me...

I hit the lower Willamette out of George Rogers park at 7am for a mixed day of bass and sturgeon fishing on Sunday. I had done extremely well bass fishing a few weeks back and I was hoping the amazing bite would continue, but at the same time I was worried about the cold front that had come...

The bass fishing on the Willamette is just plain insane right now for numbers of bass. I have launched the kayak out of George Rogers park the last two weekends and my arms have been tired by the end of the day. On Sunday August 28th I am sure I caught over a hundred bass. I caught my 50th at...

Quick report: Launched at Roger's Landing at sunrise. Moss everywhere...spent half the time pulling moss off lures. Landed a total of 4 smallies (12 inchers) by 10:30am, then got off the water as the Father's Day recreation boat crowd arrived. All fish caught trolling hard bodied...

How's it going guys? New member and very novice at fishing. So I pretty much have the willamette running through my back yard. It looks pretty low, hell I can see the bottom pretty clear and could probably walk across the river. Anyway because of school starting again I can't afford a fishing...

Took advantage of the nice weather and to get out into some of my favorite bass water. I was able to "guide" Tanner and myself into some nice small mouth top water action. We probably hooked over a dozen fish on various poppers including some pretty decent slabs. Water was almost warm...

I ended up by Willamette park today and decided to scout it out for possible fishing spots. Does anybody know if this place is any good? The water looked a little shallow but I saw a lot of minnows and even a decent sized bass on the shoreline. I am looking to fish bass and trout from the bank.
