Salt Water Fishing in Oregon

I'm going to be staying in Brandon next weekend pretty close to the South jetty. If the weather/surf cooperates I'd like to do some fishing. From old posts it looks like there are redtail surf perch there. Is there anything else I could target from the shore/jetty?

Yesterday was a beauty of a day to be out on the water down by Charleston. Put the boat in about 10:30 AM and had the traps in the water shortly afterward. Looked as if it was gonna be a slow day as we only had less than one limit to split after the first two pulls. but as the current slowed and...

Winter is coming. Lings are moving in. High pressure has been hard on river conditions but great for the salt fishing. Here's some pics of some razor toothed slabs. Fishing out on lake Newport which is often flatter than Hagg. Cheers

I'm thinking of hitting the stone wall for the first time just out of Newport. Is this place any good for rock fish?

Fished with Haystack Fishing, for ling cod and bottom fish. We launched off the beach about 7:30 a.m. and headed west. We started fishing within 10 minutes or so of launching, and probably had the first fish on within 15 minutes of launching. It was very cold to start the day, but the sun...

I know it has been slow, but any recent reports from Newport? We have never been fishing up there and my wife really wants to go. We have a few pots to drop and then want to target bottom fish. I am also curios about herring fishing, I hear they may do that as well? Thank you Dan

I am going to head out in Yaquina bay tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone has any reports to share? I’m taking my 5 year old son out so I’m hoping we can get some keepers for him. It’s been a very off year in Yaquina bay. Maybe I can find a big lingcod for him to help me reel in also. Thanks...
