Fishing in Southwest Oregon

finally got over the Archie creek and did not loose my home, so a fellow vet and I are heading to the coast on the Umpqua looking for a day on the water. Fish would be nice but then a day of relaxation is also good and I need to burn up some oldish gas in my boat. On the better side anybody...

I spent 5 hours on the water getting familiar with river conditions from Scottsburg launch upriver to the free flowing Umpqua that starts 3 miles up from the boat launch. I had the river to myself, save a pair of canada geese that stayed just ahead of me as I pedaled upstream- not a single...

upper level mismanagement of LingFace is having an internal disagreement about where to toss hooks about this weekend. One option is to go to diamond lake. What sort of bank fishing results would I have this coming weekend. I will probably spend the night at the forest service campground. Is it...

With all this rain finally arriving I just can't seem to avoid thinking about the silvers showing up. Stopped by the river a few days ago while passing through and did see some downstream current and several trailers in the parking lot. Has anyone heard of any reports?

Looking for the Cannon Beach area sweet spots for surf perch. Having not fished this area before I'm clueless other than exploring. I know Mustardthetrout and PK can probably chime in with some ideas but seems I'm unable to PM them for some reason so I'll have to ask here. A plate full of...

Canopy camped in Winchester Bay on Friday night, was up before sunrise for spinner flinging for salmon in Halfmoon Bay. There were about a dozen anglers for the incoming and high slack tide, but I only saw one land a fin-clipped Coho on a pink spinner. It's been pretty slow out there for bank...

Going to be in Coos Bay for three days. The Coal Bank Slough runs right behind the Edge Water Inn that we are staying in. Has any one fish there? If so what did you catch and what bait. I'm going to give it a try-its water and salmon is running so why not.

in the tidewater/bay at least, Rockfish bite is like most fish... "bump, bump, pause, bump bump, pause...". Lingcod bite feels like a snag, then it moves a little or can be lifted, like you hooked a crab pot, then they wake up when you set the hook... I got the whole deal on video today- how I...

I'm fishing near Eel lake this weekend on the coast - wondering if it's worth bringing my bigger gear and fishing the coast, or bringing my fly gear to hit the umpqua, or brining my bass gear to just fish the lake. Any suggestions? (besides bring them all)
