    Fishing GP

I would say, depending on the weather, a month or so before it's hot. I've seen decent reports as of late.

Good jetty/beach spots this time of year?

I usually fish the north jetty in illwacco and the south in Hammond. Both great fishing with lots of area to cover, ocean and river. Watch the weather report wherever you go and avoid rainy days. Unless you like having bruised hips and twisted ankles. Good luck out there and be safe!

    Salem area fishing

If you're interested in Kokanee, that's my main stay as well, then you're in luck! Green peter is close by and is one of Oregon's best kokanee lakes! Detroit has them as well, but the bag limit is included with the trout limit and they are hard to find. G.P. allows a 25 fish limit in addition to...

    How to reasonably confront?

Oh I agree and I'll reiterate that I am very polite so most don't get their feathers ruffled. I approach it very much the sane as you and I would never invite someone to my truck or just hand over my phone. In fact I've only argued with a couple guys and upon asking if they'd like to see the...

    Boat ramp update

He told me yesterday work starts some time this week. He said it was a insurance pain in the butt.

    How to reasonably confront?

I find if you say it nicely they usually feel more stupid and learn something. If they disagree I've got the regs in the truck or on my phone and I gladly tell them I'll show them. If they acknowledge their mistake, I make sure I tell them nicely they need to check their regs before they go...

Henry Hagg Lake fishing reports 2009 - 2018

Me and my buddy managed to pick up two of those two pounders yesterday and lost one that was about six pounds,(it breached two feet out of the water, snapped line).

    How abnormal is this?

That's funny, exactly what I was thinking. Wouldn't you know it too, from the reports I've seen this year the fish are averaging 12-13" and healthy. Wouldn't that figure, the fish start getting bigger... Sorry for the hijack:)

    Train bridge causes access closure

Personally I'm glad to see it go. Many people have died jumping from that bridge. I just hope the clean up hurries. It could really mess with river access this spring

    How abnormal is this?

Just a little FYI, sismustus kokes are all but gone. You may find some. But from all that I've seen they aren't being found. Apparently they fixed the hole in the dam where they were escaping LBC in anticipation for the states reintroduction of sockeye. Hence why LBC has a 16" limit on kokes...

    First big fish

Great story! I'm sure all us fisherman can admit to the "little girl laugh"..

Got a story. Want your guy's opinions

I'd say unlikely, but what I don't get is the fact that if he was gonna lie, why not say it was a 25lb steel or a 50lb nook? Seems fishy either way to me...

    Over fished?

To add another option, they will be stocking green peter on the 7th of April.

Dipsy diver vs downrigger? What do you think?

DR's are faaaaaaaar more accurate. Say a fish is below the range of your diver or above, what do you do then? You're better off fishing lead vs a diver
