My Condolences to you and your family. I also lost a loved one today but it was to old age, it still hurts inside. May God be with you and comfort you as you deal with your lose.
Shane,
Thanks for posting the video.... I realized that every time I reached with the net a little more line fed out from the reel so he was getting farther away with each stab! I ended with four trophys for the time I spent on the water.....
Thanks to all who made the time worth while..

I know that Sollie Smith is considered the reach of tide but I'm not sure what it is like at this time of year. It might be assumed that until the rains come and the river rises it would be low and slow! Just my thought. A Kyak or nucanoe might be ok but not sure I'd want to row a drifter all...

What a wonderful time fishing with friends and catching some real nice fish for a change. It was great to meet a few new faces and share some stories around the campfire. I have to apologize to Jeanna for giving Ava her voice! Turns out I was standing over her...
Yeah, Drive east until you get to Ontario and then go south and fish the Owyhee river! This time of year they will hit anything that moves near them. Big streamers are a favorite!
This is from the first week in September last year... it was one of the smaller one for the day.

I think a few people could show up with nothing and we would have them fully outfitted before we are through with breakfast... Or sooner if we skip breakfast!
Most of the trophy fish we caught last year can be handled with 6lb spinning gear or a 4 to 6 wt fly rod. Many of the fly fishers were using intermediate sinking line and olive wolley buggers or something similar.... And don't forget to bring a camera or you will miss taking home this:
