I seem to remember John Judy talking about some type of system like this in his book Slack Line Strategies for Fly Fishing. I could be totally off base here as it was a few months ago I read the book but I can remember saying to myself I am going to try this system but never got around to it...
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I went up Deerhorn yesterday and slayed them. When they weren't taking dries they were all over the nymphs. I even caught my first Mountain Whitefish.
The fish have to still be there somewhere. Logic would say they would be easier to catch because there are fewer places for them to be but that does not seem to be working and logic has failed me many times in the past. I am just looking for good spots to target as I think the water this year...
I am new to the area and I have been having some success on the Mac until the water started going down last week. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where to go when the water gets a little lower like it has been doing. I am Fly-Fishing and will be wading (unless someone has an...
I am looking for a good place to go fishing for bluegill close to Eugene. I have been going out to Triangle lake but I would like something a little closer. Thanks for any advice.
I flew with a fly rod out of Eugene and Salt Lake about a month ago and did not have any issues. I carried on my rod and reel and stored it in the overhead bin. I would recommend taking a 4 piece rod. I checked the rest of my gear but I did take some flies on the plane and they did not say...
I was out on the Mac on Saturday during the downpour. Water was a bit higher than in previous weeks but still very clear. I hooked up with a few smaller cutthroat all on dries. There were a few hatches through the afternoon when it was not raining.
I was there for 4 hrs with my 4 yr old son when the truck dumped the fish. We didn't catch anything but some of the people around us caught some. I have more luck out on the Mckenzie where they don't stock.
I am learning how to fly fish and really want to get up and try out the mf of the willy. I am wondering if there are any places anyone can recommend that would have some fish this time of year that are wadeable. I am also wondering what types of flies people would recommend.
I am wondering if there are any good places people can reccomend to fly fish from eweb lake down. Last time I went up there the river was at flood stage and was not wadable. I know the river is lower now but I want to make sure if I take the time to go up there it will be fishable.
I went sat and fly fished for a couple hrs and didn't even get a bite. In fact while I was there I did not see anyone catch anything the entire time I was there. What are you using if you don't mind me asking.
