I would pass on the winters - the gloom drives me crazy and the rain don't make it better, but I have done some crabbing and it was a blast to pull up a full pot. Especially, as mentioned, when getting skunked with everything else.

Interesting read. I've had my stuff stolen many times and I've looked on craigslist but never turned anything up. I'm kinda glad I didn't find it.

I agree with the other guy. If you're not moving about, the rubberized stuff works great. I really liked my Helly Hansen Voss jacket and pants.
