    Coastal surf perch

Down for the week in the Manzanita/Rockaway area. Is the surf perch season pretty much done or is there still hope? Tides are great right now and making some nice feeding holes where I'm at. Should I waste the time or harvest mussels and clams instead? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Have you ever...

Last year, I managed to catch a fishing pole, my buddy caught a trout via the Grampa Ron method, and actually had to cut my line after a long cast and caught a trout while hand retrieving my line. It was kinda a crazy summer. Years ago, I caught a red-side on the Deschutes that I had previously...

    Sandy trash

I totally agree and adhere to the same practice. I have been teaching my boys to pick up empty worm containers, loose lines, and other trash whenever we go out. It makes me sick to see people pollute the banks and waters because they don't even care. Good job!

    Fishing at North Fork 8-29-14

Well, Looks like I won't be heading to N.F. or Harriet this week like I had planned. Best of wishes and prayers to all of the Fire Fighters, residents, and folks affected by the 36 Pit Fire. Such a beautiful area. I have a huge lump in my gut right now.

    Fishing at North Fork 8-29-14

Thanks for the update. I have been skipping N.F. this year due to the hassles. Were you fishing from the bank or on a boat? I am planning a trip next week and might consider N.F. as an option.

Trip to the coast (first time salt water fishing)

Has anyone tried their luck Perch fishing along the Manzanita beach stretch from Neah-Kah-Nie down to the mouth of the Nehalem? Also, what about the jetty at the mouth of Nehalem? Headed down for a week and want to try something different. I know my Grandad used to fish the shoreline at...

    Got a question!!!

Dead on perfect directions trouthunter! I go up there quite a bit and that is pretty much nails as far as mileage. The road was closed for a time last year and you had to take the road right by the ranger station. They will both get you there, but FS 57 is a much more direct and quicker route...

    Intel on Cross Park

Might be a little late in the year for Cross Park. It's pretty close to the mouth. I believe most of the fish are further up in the system. (Carver and above) I may be wrong, but that has always been my experience come July. Best of luck though and let us know how it goes!

    Timothy 7/1/14

Nice report Monty! I have a special place in my heart for that lake. Caught my first trout there at 3 years old! Set my trip for last week of July. Planning on pounding the craws and picking up a few trout to boot!

Thanks for the update. I am planning on heading up in a week or two. Craving some crawfish and what better way to kill the soak time than dragging some spinners around.

Lost rods, looking for rightful owners!

Harriet must be the place for it. Last season, I caught a rod/reel down near the dam. )It was a cheapy no-name combo rig) Thought I hooked a fish, reeled up and found a snag of line. Wanted to get as much as possible out of the water so I started pulling. After a while, "bloop" out pops the tip...

    Harriet Lake Fishing Reports

Took the son up to Harriet lake yesterday for a little guy time. Rained the whole drive, got the lake and no rain for our entire day. Son humbled dad a little and struck the old man's ego by hooking up first and starting off 5-2. Lots of fish in the boat. Mostly small planters but so many that...
