Does anyone fish it anymore? Back in the days of Marmot Dam, and when you could park at Dodge Park and walk down river to the Pipeline Hole and beyond, it was my go-to river of choice for steelhead and salmon. I remember getting there early morning, greeting some familiar faces here and there...

I have never heard of anything to be caught on the sandy river. Is it any good right now? If not when? And where? The only places I know of is Oxbow Park and Dodge Park. Any help welcome. Thanks guys! (Slowly making my first steps into salmon/steelhead world :p)

I got a recording when I called Grant's phone that he isn't shuttling until late Fall because of low water levels. I know there is a guy (Lenny) who will drive you back to your car, does anyone know of another shuttle service that will move your vehicle for you on the Sandy? Thanks.

Went out to the Sandy to do some fishing today with a homemade shrimp lure I was eager to try out. No action at Dodge or Oxbow. Was pretty crowded at both places so I first thought that could be a good sign but not this time. The only thing I got, was soaking wet but at least I was out there.

33inch - 20pound steelhead caught this morning 4/17/2015 Caught using 10' 6" lamiglas rod. Float with 1/8oz pearl white jig and wfo white worm pink tail. 3 casts in and this fish jumped twice and sizzled down river quick! It took me a good 20-30 minutes to wear him down. Finally had to trek down...

Caught using 1/4oz white pearl jig/pink worm under float. It was still getting light out and I was only 2-minutes into fishing and on my second cast my bobber sank! He did a couple flips but didn't run too far. Took me about 15 to 20 minutes to net him. Yes, I like to net my fish even bank...

I'm looking to do an oxbow to Dabney run for coho/steel when the time is right. I haven't floated the river yet, but after hauling in rainbow stockies this summer, I'm ready for some real fish. If anyone's interested, lets use this thread to hash something out. I'm floating a 9ft fishcat...

Sick of seeing people's garbage on the side of the river? Me too. Just wanted to ask everyone to bring a small plastic bag with you the next time you're out fishing. Fill it up. I'll try to remember too. It's up to the people who actually care about the rivers to keep them beautiful. Thanks.

Ok so consider me an official convert to the Cult of Steelhead. I had been getting skunked bad for about a month and took a break for a while. I decided to give it another shot this week hoping some new fish had arrived in the system, and I found some. After hanging into a couple bright summers...

It was an awesome day on the Sandy today. The level was 11+ which was plenty high , but the color and clarity were great, about 3 feet and steelie green. I hooked up 3 times and landed 2 all three natives...the one that came unbuttoned did a nice revealing aerial about 5 feet from me and showed...

Had a great day on the Sandy today! Up long before the sun got to Cedar creek hatchery and was on my rock and ready to fish by 6. As soon as I could see my bobber, I started floating a Nightmare jig...2nd cast got the first fish, a nice little buck. Fished for awhile longer, and had a couple...

It's a small step, it won't keep the Native Fish Society from pursuing their agenda to annihilate all things missing an adipose, but, it's a nice small victory for those of us that aren't of that narrow view that have love in our hearts for the murder of those missing an adipose. Will be...

Met up with Moe this morning just downstream from Cedar Creek, we tried our luck to no avail. I did manage to net 2 nice chromers for the guy fishing just upstream from me one was nice, around 10+lbs I'd say. I had a couple takedowns but swung and missed both times...better luck next time. But...
