Question on my experience thus far

I have been using float and jigs or shrimp or eggs for trout for quite some time now. I have been very successfull in rivers for good sized trout pretty much anytime I go now. I was just wondering, a lot of times I target Steelhead I am getting trout or smaller fish biting a lot even when I use my...

    A couple of Q's

The river is running up into the 10,000 cfs range recently. It is fishable in spot but is very dangerous and the fish will be close to the bank in slow holes.

November fly fishing for trout. Which flies?!

Use wooly buggers in olive and even white. Gold ribbed hares ear nymphs in a size 14 work year round as well. I have always had great luck with egg patterns as well. Good luck to ya! Remember to report back with your findings :).

Big Cliff dam to Stayton 6am-3pm.

Next time run a sand shimp alive in the very slow deep pools early mornin under a slip float. Its a great way to find fish and if all else fails use Pautzki eggs and barbless hooks to have some catch and release trout fun:)

Sweet smoked salmon / squaw candy/ salmon candy

Here is the final recipe I settled on after much trial and error for this delicious treat. This is for one large filet of Sockeye Salmon. For the brine use... 1 1/2 cups dark pure brown sugar 1/4 cup sea salt 1/2 cup filtered honey 1/2 cup pure maple syrup... it costs a bit more but is worth it...

Salmonfly's are hatching on the N. Fork

That river running at a low of 8000 CFS also makes it a bit pointless lol. The fishing conditions are very poor right now. That is a great sudgestion though man. That is a wel producing pattern on this system. We just need the water to come down a bit ;)
