On my way home from Detroit yesterday I fished pretty much every bank access point for steelhead. I was trying everything kastmasters, yarn balls, worms, beads, carabou jigs and pink worms. Didn't catch a damn thing and neither did the other anglers I met along the way. I thought end of july was supposed to be hot for steel?

Carabou jigs!? Ha ha anyways yeah I agree it just seems to be pretty slow everywhere right now. I'm still blaming it ln the weird weather! Ha ha

Next time run a sand shimp alive in the very slow deep pools early mornin under a slip float. Its a great way to find fish and if all else fails use Pautzki eggs and barbless hooks to have some catch and release trout fun

I might try sand shrimp next time I hit Niagra. Everyone says sandshrimp are slayers but I've never caught anything inland with them.
