    Salmon rod question

That rod won't work very well. What will happen is you'll hook Mr. Springer and he's gonna be pissed. He's going to run up or down or he will just stay on the bottom in current. In either case you need more backbone to stop him if he runs or you'll need the power to tighten your drag a little...

    Salmon on the Sandy?

If you know where to look there should be some. If you don't know where to look I suggest covering water with a size 4 or 5 spinner. Work it as slow as you can and very close to the bottom.

    Lost my biggest

I tried to shut my mouth but I can't. If you have any problem with people running their mouths that's perfectly fine. I could care less if you guys start screaming at each other, if your line gets cut, or if you guys fight. If I were you I wouldn't ever lift your shirt in that scenario, you...

    Wilson weekend trip

I'm about to tell you something very important. Tomorrow morning the Wilson river is going to get hammered by lots of fisherman. These guys will be rushing to be on the river before daylight. On days like this I will get to the river late like 11-1. By this time the early fisherman are...

    Strange sportsman-like techniques?

His behavior is definitely strange. Could you identify the fish as a steelhead? If he was using bait the fish may have swallowed the hook really deep and he was hoping the fish would come loose. A lot of people don't know it is better to just cut the line close to the hook and it will fall out...

    Sturgeon in the Sandy River

I disagree with this statement and believe the opposite is true. A lot of the small cricks in the NW coast range get returns of wild winter Steelhead. They are not listed anywhere in the Regulations so that means it is Closed to fishing. To answer your question directly Sturgeon Cannot be...

Is there any springers running yet near the Sandy

Yes there are springers running near the sandy. In the Columbia River. I would give it a month before trying to consistently target them in the Sandy though

    Lower Eagle Creek

I would love to think it was a springer... If you ever have or get the chance to go specifically target big native Steelhead go. To catch the trophies the gear you use looks a lot more like salmon gear than steelhead. Any size steelhead will attack a #5 if it's near its spawning ground.

    Lower Eagle Creek

With only two counted over the falls I don't think there is going to be very many if any up that way.

    B.C. Angling Post in Gladtone...

Look at their website and check the price of your items. There quality is top notch, but too expensive for me. There pre made spinners spoons are $6-9 or more
