    Salmon catch

This is unreal. Glad your mug is posted here. I don't fish bonnie or eagle, but I do float the clack on a regular basis. If I ever see you down there I will report, as I do with all the other goons that snag fish. Sad thing is OSP doesn't do a dang thing about it. That being said, since your...

    I need therapy

Temp is just under 65 right now. Tough to get anything to bite in these conditions. A lot of those upper river (McIver) fish have been in the river a while, with most recycled. They are beat up and tired, the last thing they want to do is put out the effort to grab something. Once the water...

    Jetty help

I am also a newbie when it comes to Jetty fishing, but have 25+ years fly fishing experience and recently spent a few hours along the jetty in Garibaldi. I was using a 10' 8wt with intermediate line and 10' t-8 sink tip. I was using a variety of big white streamers I tied for fun years ago with...

    New to the site

I can answer your question...NO. For one thing there is absolutely no need since the river is accessible the whole way from the road. Besides that it gets very skinny with a couple spots that a boat couldn't fit through.

    Owyhee River advice

It is a technical fishery. Small dry flies are the rule this time of year. Size 20-22 PMDs and baetis. Chucking streamers in the evening right at dark is a great way to bring some of those really big boys to hand. Don't fish blind, work slow and cast to rising feeding fish. Get a good first...

Deschutes steel/trout trip late July Maupin to Macks Canyon

    1) is the water too cold to wade in just shorts if I decide to use a vehicle to access the river or, do I need to have boots with neoprene waders?? - You'd be crazy to wear neoprenes out there. Not only are they incredibly hot, there is no need for them. The water is warm enough to wet wade. I...

Suggestions for fishing near Prescott Beach?

Trojan Ponds, Salmonberry Lake (St. Helens), trash fish along any beach on the columbia. Those would be my thoughts.

    Wilson in late April

Lots of redds around now. I saw quite a few spawners around last trip out up high. Didn't end up fishing at all, just watching them for a bit. Please be respectful and leave them alone. Stay down lower, there are still fresh fish coming in.

    Help spooning

You are doing it right. To slow down the swing lower your rod tip and keep it pointed at your lure to a little upriver. In turn you can speed it up by pointing the rod downriver and in towards the bank. Sounds like you have it figure out. Now you just need to find some fish. Also in deep...

    Trogan ponds 3/31/14

Trojan you mean. Also, highly doubt anything holds over in that grass pond. Once summer hits the temps in that pond surpass 80 degrees. Trout can't survive due to lack of oxygen. You just lucked out and got a bigger stocker from this years plants. Nice work!

Check the water levels before you go!

Go upriver, fishing isn't even good down that low. And blanking? I find that hard to believe as I was there for 3 days last weekend and caught 50 each day, that's 150 fish for just me in 3 days, and my buddies and our girlfriends did just as well. There is no blanking on the crooked. Too many...

    Sandy or Wilson???

Save your time and money and don't go. I am not sure if you checked the weather, but tonight 2-4 inches of rain forecasted with 70 mph winds. This weather is going to extend through sunday morning. The rivers are going to jump significantly and will be dark brown and flowing very fast with lots...
