Got 2, but one was snagged in the back, so I let him go. Not as good as last week, but still pretty fun.

Not big but first one from my kayak this season. Had a big one on but a seal took it away from me. That was a first for me.

The two silvers on the gunnysack were from Sunday trip on the Columbia the chinook was earlier. Fishing is still good down here! Crabs are next.

My first of the year

My wife's first unassisted Chinook salmon and from a kayak. She hooked, fought, pulled anchor, netted, bonked, bled, and tagged this all by herself with minimal verbal assistance.
My wife's been afflicted with a bug....salmon fever (see post 16). She wanted to go back and try fishing off the bank so who was I to argue. Right away she caught a nice little coho with a spinner but ran up against something that frustrates us all sometimes, the regulations. Can't keep a coho on Friday here.
I botched a hookset on a fish right after that but a few hours later got my only other bite of the day, a bright 21lb. hatchery buck.
