Personally I don't post fresh reports on smaller waters. Sure, lower Willamette, Columbia, Detroit lake etc, post away. If im posting about the Nestucca, Umpqua, small hike in lake etc, I'll wait a week or so before posting a report.
About 3 years ago, a buddy and I fished Suttle lake for Brown trout in March, but couldn't keep Kokanee off the hooks. Limit is 25. Limits were normal in just a couple hours. First day we were the only boat, next day there was another boat trolling, we were jigging. My buddy goes home and posts it on Iflush. The next weekend there were 21 boats jigging the south end for kokanee. At the boat ramp, two different guys told us they read about it on the Internet. These guys hammered the big Kokanee all spring. Since then, I haven't caught a koke over 10", and not even close to a limit. Even if I discount the size and numbers of fish, that was still a dramatic increase in pressure on a smaller mountain lake.
IDK. Their are a lot of dumb and crazy folks out fishing the rivers. a lot nice people too. Also Im very recognizable, maybe its time for a hair cut ? LOLJust ignore the farty dude!
Also don't listen to any story about carrying guns either! It's the dumbest advise anyone can give you.
-this is not a war zone
-you're a teenager or couple years older
-if you pull a gun out on someone you have only one option
-don't be stupid!
-if you get harassed on a public form request ip of the person from the moderators, this is your legal right.
Thanks steven! The rogue is a great river. but a lot of people take it way to serious LOLI posted on the other forum as well, but don't let them get to you Shane. I wouldn't worry about what he said at all.
And to anyone that hasn't fished the Rogue before. Most of it is shoulder to shoulder fishing, especially on weekends, but it's a pretty big river with plenty of access. The Rogue gets very few internet posts compared to other rivers and yet its always very crowded during the peak of each fishing season. People posting a few reports isn't going to change anything, especially with so many miles of river to hit if you want to get away from the crowds. Last year I fished during the peak of springer season by myself unless I invited a few friends. All it takes is hiking a bit away from the crowds and you've got the place to yourself.

Why are so many against having a pistol while fishing? I think its a good idea with how many drunk/crazy people are fishing. Im sure a lot of people carry while fishing too. I dont know if i will or not. But its not a bad idea. Iv wanted to before this happened too.
Carrying a gun is a right, but if you pull a gun on dumb guy you'll either end up in jail or die! Think about it, you're not the only one with the gun right!
If you don't trust your butt, get a fishing buddy!

I used to hang around on iflush... place sucks, absolutely sucks A$$!
Internet fishing reports... oh boy. Not a huge fan, can live without em myself. I don't need the internet to find the fish, I do not chase reports. People do though. As stated, fisheries change literally overnight with a "hot bite" report. "Why are you on there if your not looking at reports" I've been asked - I like to read stories and share ideas with like-minded people. I like to fish with new people and meet people that are into fishing as I am. I certainly do not need to be on here for the reports. Kinda rubs me the wrong way when people post heavy on my smaller rivers and creeks, but it wont ruin my day. Far as I'm concerned, it only hurts the folk putting up the report - simply for what you have to deal with now Shane... internet fame!
The responses concerning packing to deal with these guys is beyond... this is about the last thing you'll want to do. Ya'll sound like you have no problem taking the life of another person over a fish. A F&@(ing fish! Were still talking about fish here... taking the life of another human with a family and friends is pretty F&*(in' selfish... just sayin'.
Posting internet reports is pretty touchy - especially when the reports is partnered with a ton of pics and a lot of video. You'll make a lot of people happy, and upset a few.. just the way it is!
I've been a concealed permit holder for almost 20 years. Rule #1 of carrying a gun is knowing if you pull it, you better be prepared and justified in killing another human. That's a pretty awesome responsibility, and no fish is worth that. In fishing, carrying a gun really isn't necessary IMHO. Just fish and ignore stupid people.
Dude I love the fish porn.... I can't catch a fish if my life were depending on it....
