Free fishing weekend

I have been asked to facilitate a free fishing weekend trip for some friends and family. I’d like to be within 2 hrs of Eugene/springfield and not be too crowded. The location needs to have moderately easy access walking and engineless boats. Some of the people attending have never caught a fish so bait legal and stocked trout are a plus. If it were just me I would go to the salt but I think this group would have more fun in the fresh water. What say you?

About what size of group are you trying to take? I would say just about any park on a stocked pond would be a fairly good bet. Most places like that seem to have a decent population of panfish, and maybe some bass, along with the stocked trout.

Hi, you can try EE Wilson Pond. The pond itself is a half mile walk from the parking lot, but has great all around access along with a few socks. No boats.

It's been several years since I've been to EE Wilson. But there were no docks the last time that I was out there. Are there some now?
