First steel this year...Twickenham, Oregon

I've heard the steels have been hittin' T.W.H. JohnDay river, so I checked it out......................Fish on. First was a 15in smallie, nice, 25 mins later landed a 22' bull steel keeper. Not bad for the first day. Anybody else have John Day River Central stories?

So what were you using? My two guesses would be night crawler or crankbait. Sounds like a good day of fishing. Next summer im floating the john day for sure. Meant to do it this year but it didn't work out.
