Coho salmon on the Columbia river

This is how I rig for drift fishing...
Mainline goes to a black barrel swivel, and leave your tag end long at least 3 inches. Use 18-24 inches of 8lb leader tied to a "stinger", essentially two hooks in a line about 1 inch apart (steelhead stalker... bring in your vids )
Or your leader can be tied to a size 1 egg hook with a corkie above it.
Clip enough weight onto the long tag so it will bounce several times throughout the drift.

Also adding, Yarn can be used as roe imitations where bait is not allowed, and it is a great scent holder and color attractant.
 
Why do you put on the Stringer Hooks?
and What size hooks should be Used?
 
And Nothing on the Second hook?

And what color is Better for Coho?

Hook, size 1 or 2, or a stinger of 4s.
Size 12 corkie with 4s, and size 10 corkie with 1 and 2s/
Any corkie will work if the conditions are right. Stick with reds/oranges/uvs.
 

Here ya go bud, I shot this while standing in Cedar Creek, looking out towards the Sandy...



That guy you can barely see on the right, next to the tree on the creeks edge, he is headed to the Slaughter Hole.
 
Im Guessing the Water gets Higher.
 
It does, but fish still cruise through there by the dozens with the water at that level. And when it is hot, the mouth of creek is lined with guys in waders, even just shoes and shorts, fishin away, while fish are trying to get past them.

You can do that? isn't that interfering with fish?
 
Oh, So I Can Cross the Creek and have more Space to fish.

And Using that rig with the 2 hooks. Wont I look like a Snagger?
And since its Drift Fishing, Im gonna be setting the hook 5 times a cast?

man you watch Steelies go through the fish ladder for a bit an then one of thoses Nooks come through an HOLY S###! I want one on them!
