The bite was OFF for the first time ever! It was a good trip got some nature porn but the fish were sneaky this time around. We also saw some fresh bear tracks on the trail up too. It was pretty cool and there was only 3 inches of fresh snow so the trek wasn't bad at all. Better luck next time. ;)
We have made it to the trailhead when there was 6 feet of snow up there and half the lake frozen over. The roads are usually clear enough to get up, for us anyways. Nothing beats fish porn Waco!
My brother and I are going to Marion Lake for one last trip before it's buried in snow for the winter. I will be taking pictures on the celly. Forecast for Saturday is snow but less then half an inch which means 2 to 3 inches of snow up there. :)

Considering the upper North Santiam is literally right next to the log pond maybe when the river is really high the fish are able to swim into the pond? I think there is a creek connecting the two as well but I could be wrong.
Freeway Lakes in Albany carry some nice bucketmouths. If you get past all the garbage and stuff the place is actually quite fun to fish and boats are allowed as well.
