I've caught thousands of crappie in my life time and spent a half of my days trying to figure out the how to,s. Crappies school together, find one, you can find them all. Once you find the depth of there location on the fish finder, you can proceed to target them any where around the lake...

Places that can fix slightly broken casting pole?

I try not to use my bamboo any more because of the fear of brakeage. I found that the spendy purchase of life time rods, such as orvis and sage will in time pay for them selves. I had a 2wt. orvis altra fine that I purchased years ago for 150.00, during a stream crossing I slipped off a big...

Places that can fix slightly broken casting pole?

hi maddog, sad to hear about your accident, I've had a couple of fly rods that experienced the same fate. unless the rod is worth a lot of cash, its cheaper to replace it. normal cost for a professional repair will be over 100.00. a crappy repair, one THAT WILL effect the performance of...

rodger gave an excellent post regarding lings in coos bay, id like to add[ weather permitting] drift with the tide off the north jetty. find where the rocks meet the sand. I use 4 to 6 oz. jig heads with squid on the incoming tides. white plastics or sea trout on the outgoing. as you are...

    Major help needed

Hey Charlie, never fished odell, but trolled for silvers in Washington for many years. first you need a fish finder to find what depth the fish are swimming at. once you know the depth required of your presentation. troll miniature flashers 60 ft behind release, add 3ft of leader, there are...

Bottom fishing Coos Bay in an inflatable board/kayak

Id love to try a kayak this summer, but I hated canoes growing up, I can only assume that stability is about the same. being out on the salt in one puts my mind out of its comfort zone, but I will give it a try...

    No idea what I'm doing

Hey mcfishin, from what I read, Off members have you covered in the bait category, I'm a little skeptical with you using 6# test and a trout rod. Carp are excellent fighters and can be finicky. On the great lakes they have a sport fishery for carp on the flats, kind of like bone fishing in...
