Well they changed they are getting further behind last years run and getting worse. They are behind as much as what has came over. It's going to be a slow year I think but that's just me. Less Salmon less Summer and Winter Steelhead and not turning around yet. Surprised they haven' shut down...
Thanks I guess. I just know when it went up a while back it was very very dirty and there was talk of a slide or logging causing the river to be dirty. It is very difficult to catch fish when it's like that.
Here is what I know. 7 to 9 foot seems high to what I was told. That stretch is best to us the Tiller gage as Your reference. So I was told 900 to 1500 cfs and right now it's near 900 so it is likely getting a little low. I personally like to talk feet.
With the river quotas not met yet and the pressure off the lake (effort)I would say there will be no miracle hoards of Coho coming into the lake. The numbers are just not there. People are giving me reports of very few rolling fish also. Mother Nature has programmed these fish so why would they...
Is it just me or is it slow fishing this year on the Willamette and Middle Fork unless you are at the deadhead of the fisheries near the Hatcheries. Lots of boat seen and not many fish being caught when I have been there. Breeding non biters? Town run fish moving up river?
You won't like the level. Use the Willamette at Eugene instead. Fishes best I think from 10 foot down. But if you want to fish it at any level go for it.
I would think that at least on the McKenzie they should be thinking about shutting down Salmon Fishing for now. With the low and I mean low counts over Oregon City there must be a dismal amount of Wild Fish comming over. I would like to fish but we need to protect the wild run too.
Gate
Gate
That would be Weyerhauser's gate to their timberland. Closed most the time. No entry if open except when they say you can go in. Usually weekends and during hunting seasons.
