    Any luck???

Anybody been out recently? Haven't seen any new posts lately.

    Any luck???

I went out yesterday, along with the other 50+ people who thought it was going to be hot. BZZZZ Wrong! I fished pretty much everywhere between Clemens down to Mike Bauer and only had one bite. I talked to a bunch of people and only heard one was caught at the hatchery and two keepers were caught...

    Alsea post blow-out fishing

Nice job man. I was out there today and it was over six feet. Talked to the guy checking licenses and he said it would be up to seven feet by tonight. I still tried but it was pointless. Hope it clears up soon.

    Alsea post blow-out fishing

As you can see in this post, it really depends on who you talk to. Hopefully with the rain it won't matter and you hook up wherever you go!

    Alsea post blow-out fishing

Muskie - Thanks for the update. Sounds like the big rains will hit Saturday and Sunday. McAuliffe - There are many great places along the river. Basically go to any of the parks and you'll find bank access. There are many other pull-offs as well along the way. How far you go downstream is...

    Alsea post blow-out fishing

Gotcha - thanks for the replies. Water color isn't really a concern from a personal standpoint, it's more about how that affects the chances of catching anything. I heard some people talking about how the Alsea was going to get "blown out" this weekend and I didn't really know what that meant or...

    Alsea post blow-out fishing

So as most of you know, the Alsea is expected to go from 2.5 feet to somewhere between 5 and 6 feet over the next couple of days. Does anybody know how long it will take for the river to clear up and be fishable after the big rains hit on Friday and Saturday?

    Holy chrome; it's on

Killer, save me one...or two!! I'm looking to get my first chromer ever as well. Thanks for sharing the pics.

    We finally get rain but...

Hrm, okay then. Fly fishing class on Saturday and then Alsea on Sunday.

    Favorite trout rig

Rivers/streams or ponds/lakes? I found fishing off the bottom was killer on stocked trout in a pond. Use a sliding egg sinker just barely large enough to get you on the bottom and then float some powerbait. Use the smallest gear possible.

    12-21 Alsea

Still pretty slow on the river. Talked to a few people and they had no bites and nobody they saw had caught anything. I am interested to hear if anybody else had better luck. It rained Friday and a little Saturday morning so I thought there might be a little more action. Anyway, I started at...

    Alsea winter steelhead

Awesome! I'm trying to get out there on Sunday - will provide an update if it works out. Hey Steelmon, can I ask where you floated?

    USFS River Edge boat landing?

Thanks! I think I found it. It looks to be right after Butler and Cedar creeks, a few miles north east of the Five Rivers county launch. So it seems like anything west of there is legal to fish in November (nooks/steelhead). *sigh* This is the hard part about learning to fish and having nobody...

    USFS River Edge boat landing?

Hey all, Just a quick question - can someone describe exactly where the USFS River Edge Boat Landing is? I can't seem to find it on the map. I'm looking at the regulations and the mainstream up to that landing is currently open, but everything past that is closed until December 1st. I'm going to...
