    Coupla woody trout

Stopped by the Wood River Saturday afternoon. There wasn't much action, but I caught one small brown and then tied into this 17" beauty under a cutbank. Some browns just bulldog, but this one went in for lots of aerobatics. The hook stayed in until just after I got the net under the fish...

    Miller time

I haven't been up there in October; my one trip up there in September was a bit of a disappointment with just little fish (but still great scenery). Also, October is my favorite time to hit some waters closer to home, whereas Miller is a place I always seem to do well in August. I'll have to try...

I also scared up a couple of grasshoppers near the swimming area and used them to catch a couple of...

What fish do you eat or not and why?

I mostly fish for trout, and I don't keep the wild redband and brown trout from the streams around here. Can't say that I liked the algae taste of the occasional Klamath and Williamson fish I kept when I was younger. Brookies are my favorite eating trout, as long as I catch them pre-September...
