The season is just about a through. Did this trip ever develop? if so how did it go and who did you book it with?

If you want some crab bait, I have some tuna carks that I will be dumping in a day or two. They are fresh and on ice.

I started using bait cages. I chop up the bait and stuff the cage. I use fish, shad, salmon, bottom fish and tuna. It milks out good and last a long time. Most crabbing I do this time of year is in the ocean. I drop traps on my way out to fish so I need the bait to be fishing all day long.

I fished out of Depoe on Saturday (my boat) and yes the tuna are in. Watch the weather then go get them.

Have you all followed this up? The tuna are in range and the ocean is being nice.

The ones I know supply everything and have quality gear. Some will drop crab traps on the way out.

They are small charters that are licensed to carry up to six passengers. The ones that I know are very well equipped and fish more like a private boat with a very good and experienced skipper. You basically rent the boat and skipper for the day and try to find 5 others to split the cost.

For those that are going out on a charter, July is the trolling fishery. The tuna will hit good, August it starts to turn to a live bait or imitation of live bait. September is not a troll fishery. Most of the charters are geared towards the troll fishery, the exception are six packs. Garibaldi...
