To reach our super-secret bank fishing spot for sturgeon, we had to ford the swollen Willamette river, but it was WORTH IT! 7 Sturgeon in 2 hours. Lack of pants is due to water-logged clothes. My brother has a thing against wet clothes... Enjoy the pics... First we crossed the flooded path...

Thanks rh. Is there is a difference between fly leader and regular leader? Is leader? I lost the manual for my reel too. It was a birthday present from like 10 years ago. Is there some kind of chart online for all these sizes...

I have a #6 fly pole reel combo but Im really confused as to what size backing, line, leader, tippet and fly that I need. I'm obviously a noob. Can someone make an explicit reccomendation?? Id really appreciate it. Also, I have never seen tippets before or fly leader. Do need to get this stuff...

sounds like a suckerfish. I caught one the other day that pretty dark and strange looking. Them suckers can look weird. Here is a pic

I'm moving down to Brookings, OR next week and I plan investigate the Chetco River. I'm interested in what kinds of fish I can expect to stalk on the regular :D Anyone have experience on the Chetco? Stories? Suggestions?

This pikeminnow was tempting to cook up. It was really fat and heavy. Probably full of salmon eggs ;) If this fish came out of a cleaner river, I'd probably try cooking it up. The Tualatin looks pretty nast. I've never heard of anyone eating them tho. I wish I would have known that they make...

I caught this big boy the other day in the tualatin. Bout 18" if I remember right. What a fighter!! I'm definitely planning on fishing for suckers again.

I found it in george rogers park in lake oswego. btw, I think that they are big time sight feeders, they went crazy when I threw little pieces of white chicken on the rocks. I think that contrast is big with your bait. I wonder what people are using to get these drift fishing. What color yarn??
