There is a study guide on ODFW website. And you can take the test online. Biggest points to remember is goose id. The whole point of the test and permit is so you can tell the difference between the different species of canada goose.... espically duskys, you shoot one and your done for the year...
You said you fished lost lake... you should try the Nehalem River. Good trout fishing I have cought them with spinners and flies. If i remember right... double check though you can keep 2 fish per day and use bait during parts of the year. Also lots of crawdads in it. Right in spruce run park...

ok so the tualatin wasn't doing anything on the fly so i packed up and hit eagle creek... never fished it for trout before... first half hour was slow to say the least then I aparently put on the magic fly cause they started biting. Landed probably 15 cuttthrouts most small but 2 that were 6-8...
