    Hawaii fishing... pointers?

i was thinking the same thing. I definitely don't want them to get out the latex gloves over a couple of fishing hooks. My friend is in Hawaii now, and rented a couple kayaks, I've been thinking about doing something like that.

    Hawaii fishing... pointers?

At the end of July, my fiancee and I will be going to Maui on a honeymoon. I really want to get into some fish while we are there, but I don't necessarily want to pay big bucks to MAYBE catch a marlin (unless someone knows a really good guide). Just wondering if anyone has had any success, or...

    Gales Creek Trout Fishing

I recently put in at the bridge on ritchey rd and floated down to B street. It's only about a mile and a half, but there were 5 or 6 log jams. 3 of them were nasty. The boat spent A LOT of time out of the water. If you float it up high, BE CAREFUL. We did catch plenty of cutthroat though...

    Ice fishing guidance

HaHa:lol: As far as the Kokanee through ice... I'm not sure where would freeze over enough and have Kokes. I know Hosmer lake in central oregon has atlantic salmon, and probably freezes, but I think it is flies only (and is catch and release). Suttle lake (outside of sisters) has Kokanee...

    Ice fishing guidance

Well long story short... it worked out. Got out there around 9, found about 8 inches of ice and started slaying! Caught around twenty total, no real size, but we did end up having to eat one we cooked over our fire because it swallowed the hook. Overall it was awesome!! We brought GULP worms...

    Ice fishing guidance

Did some research... Can't have a how bigger than twelve inches. Also did some research on ice thickness. Talked to some guys from the mid west, they said anything thicker than for inches and they drive for wheelers on it!! I'm not quite that aggressive, but were going to keep driving til we...

    Ice fishing guidance

I definitely didn't think about the size of the hole, I better check the regs, good call! The chainsaw is a good idea, I think I'll bring my 16" bar just in case we have to hike too far.

Our original plan was the axe option, but my buddy had a line on an auger, so hopefully we dont have to walk too far. Otherwise the drill option might work out. Thanks for the advice

I think were headed to joyce. I'm pretty pumped, I never thought ice fishing was a real option in oregon. Hopefully it goes well and I can report back some good info!

    Ice fishing guidance

Wow, thats some good stuff. I know that a lot of the high lakes have a higher limit, or no limit on brookies sometimes because they populate so fast and push out other trout, that may have been the case in 2010. Thanks for the videos! I'll try to take some myself.

    Ice fishing guidance

Well, since I can't catch a steelhead to save my life, I'm taking next weekend off and hoping to get a new adventure in. A couple buddies of mine ice fished some of the high lakes outside of estacada a few weeks ago and now a friend and I want to give it a shot. The only problem is, neither of...

    Molalla Table Rock lakes access?

I know this is an old thread, but as far as I know you can fish Joyce, I have a couple buddies who did a few weekends ago. I might give it a shot next weekend on the ice. If I do I'll let you know.

First yarn balls- seeking coaching advice

I used size 2 red owner hooks (suggestions accepted there too). I'm tying them for steelhead. I'll cut some back and post back some pics later on. Thanks so far!

First yarn balls- seeking coaching advice

I tried all last year to catch some fish, and never got any ink on the tag. I tried everything but yarnies, and since I'm a substitute teacher, and get some time off from time to time, I decided to give it a shot at tying some. I watched several videos, and basically ended up tying the egg loop...

Question about Hagg Lake bass regulations

Good luck at Hagg. It takes a long time to figure out (to be specific, I've been fishing it off and on for about 5 years and have NOT figured it out). There are big fish in there somewhere though...
