Ugly nate

Made it up to Barton about 8:30 with a couple friends. Weather was great. Water is still high and fast, but clearing out. Not nearly as brown as I had expected. We all hooked into a few outgoing smolt, and I got the only steel out of the group.

Beat up, spawned out native buck. Chased my brass color spoon to my feet then fought like a soggy log. Couple good jumps but no effort to run. My biggest steel yet and my first nate. Good day.

My buddies, who I failed to meet up with this morning, talked to you. You didn't get the only fish of your group -- you got the only fish on the river.

The 1st Annual Clackamas Fishing Derby had 40 entrants (although one idiot didn't make it), who caught a grand total of zero fish between them.

Props on outfishing Nick Amato -- not easy to do.

Oh if wager there were fish caught today. And tomorrow will be better. Not everyone who fished the clack was in the derby. I didn't catch one though be back at it tomorrow.
