Owyhee River advice

Hello

I'm thinking of heading out to the Owyhee River with my 2 boys next week. I'd appreciate any advice you can give for a first timer. Is it worth the travel, my boys are beginning fly fisherman so I'm wondering how technical the river is?

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Nice browns in that river. I'd take quite a few Wooly Buggers. I'm hoping to fish it this summer. Tight lines.

It is a technical fishery. Small dry flies are the rule this time of year. Size 20-22 PMDs and baetis. Chucking streamers in the evening right at dark is a great way to bring some of those really big boys to hand.

Don't fish blind, work slow and cast to rising feeding fish. Get a good first drift and you should catch a few. Remember the first cast is absolutely the most important, don't get anxious.

And be sure to go soak in the hot springs...

pmds are arriving about 16 up to 14. There are some other mayflies coming off Calibeatis? there are always BWOs 20-16.
