Jig heads

Anyone got a good way to keep the powder coating of jig heads from chipping off so fast. Seems like a couple runs through the rocks and they're bald.

You need to cure powder coat in a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes. Makes it a lot tougher.

That^^^ but to answer the question, use pro-tec powder paint, make sure your jig heads are heated thouroughly before dipping, and then cure in the oven at 320 degrees for 17:21:33

a lot of people are in a hurry and don't heat the jig properly before dipping it, and it gets poor adhesion, but even if you get crappy adhesion, if you cure it properly in the oven, it's rock solid. I have tried to chip the paint on my jigs by throwing them as hard as i can at concrete and it never chips.

Now store bought jigs, you're SOL there, just keep it off the bottom, or touch it up with sharpies. Also...avoid vinyl painted jigs, as with one pass they're usually naked of paint when you reel 'em in.
