Wanted to share a build I put together yesterday in a couple hours.
I know stuff like this is all over online, but most seem to be complicated.
I just used wood I had lying around in the garage and will now be able to fish much more peacefully with having to worry about any gear I may have being stolen via a broken canopy window.
The pictures document the process. Quick and easy. And it’s all secured to my bed so it can’t be lifted out.
I can now slide any extra rods, bags, clothes, other gear etc under the plywood platform, lock my tailgate and feel a bit more secure about my stuff. We’ve all seen the popped windows at every launch site and I don’t want to be the next one to have that happen.
In the summer I also plan to make it more comfy and use it for overnight trips with my pontoon, expanding the locations that I can easily fish. You can see the lock system I made using the little connectors that come with the $10 river float tubes everyone uses in the summer.
Just thought I’d share this cheap and easy solution, that could maybe save your window next time your on the water....
