Fly fishing at North Fork Reservoir?

Anyone here have experience fly fishing on North Fork reservoir this time of year ? There isn’t a lot of bank access on the res. From a boat work or is the lake just too damn deep?

My dear old mother wants to learn to fly fish so for her birthday this Friday I’m getting her the starter set from Orvis and taking her on my boat to North Fork. We can stash the boat and go somewhere nearby if needed. Any and all advice welcome. Thank you!

Thanks. do you happen to know how far up we can get in a power boat with a prop? I was seeing some pretty low readings a week or two ago around the marina there. Is the fly fishing any good off that camping area dock that is slightly upriver from the marina?
