Decided to head out to the clack on wednesday. Heard the fishing has been slow, but I figured I'd go check it out... I started at 5:30am with my bob and jig setup, and after two long hours of hucking my red/black combo and a wooly bugger plus the lack of a single fisherman on the river... I decided to pack up. Before I left I had an urge to try some hardware. I threw a few extra feet of leader on with a blue/silver acme spoon (onto my fire line braid LOL!) About the third cast in, my rod bowed almost as soon as the spoon hit the water. The steely took off downriver and went airborne 3 times before I was able to get it to the bank. I went back again this morning and banked an absolute pig, when I was grabbing the net, he went airborne and threw the hook. But that's alright, I'll be back for him.. Maybe tomorrow!
(Sorry for the bloody pic, shoulda washed him off a bit)
