CC stuff is usually short lived if used much on rivers. The frames just aren't meant for the bending a twisting it puts on it...same goes for the pontoons frankly. For a lake...I don't have any issues with them though or very mild river.

They are good light boats, but require considerably more maintenance and not very forgiving to a beginning rower.

A 12 or 14 ft cat is no more dangerous to anchor than a drift boat. They just will not anchor as easily, or hold in as heavy of water. Understand the limitations of yourself and your equipment and you'll never have a problem.
