I use size 4 for the summers n 2 for winter never have a problem with losing fish...but i do occationally switch up one size if the river flow is fast.
U should look into some korkers with interchangable soles...through my exp. Ive fallen on my ass a few times walking on mossy rocks...whats nice about them is that u can change from felt to spikes or vice versa. But they r kinda spendy tho
For winter steeliest u want a 9+ ft rod setup for bobber n jigs...nightmares r the favorite jigs...run 20 lb braids for mainline...for summers have an xtra pole for drifting corkies n yarn orange or pinks r favorites...run 12 lb mainline...but low water run ligher line...winter fishing is done...
Even tho i carry...never once i had to use it...i normally walk away from those confrontations, not worth it to me. I only carry cuz there r sum guys that tends to push the limits. Ive seen it happen b4 through out my yrs fishing oregon n washington rivers
Its ppl like that that i always have 1 in the chamber when im Fishing.....i dont want to resort it but u pull a stupid move n im making sure ur 3 ft under. My advise is ask afirst if its ok to b next to others n walk away if u can...a lot of ppls r carrying these days...b safe guys
I dont understand y almost everyone assume a guy is trying to floss or snag a fish when theyre using a corkie yarn setup. Im a drift fisherman n thats my preferred method, i do throw hardware n bobber n jig depending on water coditions, versatility is the key to catching these fish. Like...
From wat i understand is that divers works good when u want to run a constant depth in deep water versus using 16+ oz of lead...imay be wrong but thats wat i use em for water is choppy n the bottom is pretty even n im in 25+ ft of water
R u sure theyre winters? All ive seen hooked up there are summers...i was told that they dont clip the lips for the summers anymore...i may b wrong tho.
steelies are being caught, report has it that nooks been caught up at rivermill dam...your best chances is to fish at the crack of dawn thats when theyre biting, so good luck to who ever wants to take a crack at it.
I use a diawa saltist with 20 lb main line...never had a problem...ive landed many oversize in the 7-8 ft range...the trick is to use ur drag when fighting them...
