Fishing the Columbia a few miles below St. Helens. Had to work for them today, took until 1030 to limit, lol. can't believe how good fishing has been... very lucky to have some time off to enjoy it. Bummer the lower river closes today but I suspect it wont take long to dial my hot spot from...

    Fall nooks

Pulled anchor at 0750 with a limit of 3 plus released a darker one. Some nice size fish for sure. Water has been very rough with wind chop, makes for a dicey ride in the dark.

Perfect sense, thanks. Our fishing here, bottom type fishing is really the only case it would be useful. Either way, with our beloved internet there are very few "secret" spots left I would guess. Trips like the one I am taking in August is more a technique learning adventure as the Tuna...

QUOTE Capblack..."i wouldnt think theres many guys on a charter that also have a boat that they take out themselves. maybe im wrong " Not really true, not the norm but certainly not un-heard of. I have gotten free trips from work etc... Also, the charter fee is damn cheap way to get "in" on...

Rock fishing report March 21st 2011

Nice work! I always hear the bottom/Ling fishing is great in the spring time, need to get out sometime for a change of pace. Question for you... somewhat in relation to the picture thing. Do you run into many clients marking holes with GPS for later use on their own sportboats? Do you feel...

Question about broken Berkley Buzz Ramsey IM8

I have lots of rods, lots. With the exception of 2 okuma celilo they are all Lami or Buzz rods... mostly Buzz. I can't say enough good about them. I have beaten them like a red headed step child and the only break came from me stepping on the tip one cold morning on the Barview jetty. I do...

Sturgeon fishing on thw Willamette 2-6-11

I was out messing around last thursday and was pretty disapointed with the catch overall. Last year this time I was letting 4-8 keepers a day loose. Do you think the larger fish are down hanging around the mouth of the Cowlitz with all the smelt that are jamming through there right now? I...

    Willy opener

The meeting this week is not going to set the season. The meeting on the 8th next week is going to set it... and unfortunately I doubt they will open it for that weekend either. Hope I am wrong. I want to encourage everyone to be responsible about this when they open it. There will be a...

    Guns from my dad/grandfather

Good for you, nothing better than handed down guns. I would never sell any of the guns my family has given me, priceless. side note, I dont mean to sound like a dick but maybe you are unfamiliar with guns..... it is always a good idea to lay guns down with the action facing UP and the barrel...

    Reels for Sturgeon?

Likely the most popular and imo the best bang for the buck are the Penn 320 or 321.
