has anybody tried to fish light jigs like 1/64-1/16oz with braid? I’m thinking that because braid floats it might be an issue but I am curious for your input.
What makes me mad first of all is personal safety is a personal choice. Also it's really not even about the state being truly worried about your safety, because you not required to wear them just have them. It's not even like a car were you can be ejected and injure someone else.
I was leaning toward the 10' 6" Pro Kwik rated for 15-30. It also has a moderate fast action like the other Lamiglas float rods so I think that's the route I'll go. My next question is, is it worth a trip up to Woodland from Portland to their outlet store for a rod?
So I am looking for a Chinook float rod, and I was wondering how you guys though they'd work. I'd be using them mostly on the Sandy and Clackamas rivers, and maybe even out on the coast from time to time. My main concern(s) are obviously the actions on those rods are on the moderate side and how...
Oh I feel you brother. I still have an Abu Garcia Cardinal 353 combo that I had since I was a wee lad. It's probably pushing 30 years old now I'd guess. It has been fixed for no other reason than I love it, and the memories had with it. Heck the only issue I've had with it is the drag knob broke...
FYI your lost knife is likely a Kershaw Shuffle and are inexpensive if you want to replace it. There are several colors and there is also a Shuffle II which has a different blade shape and the bottle opener is a different style if that helps you out at all.
Do you guys think ODFW made the right call shutting stuff down? I myself think they waited to long. I mean it sucks short term, but it's what is best if we want wild fish to catch.
I was thinking maybe a rope with a series of loops tied into it. That would not only give me a hand holds but i could also use them for my feet possibly. I also considered making handles out of those loops with dowels that have a hole drilled through them. That could become a little bulky to...
Now that I think about it my uncle lives out just was of Beaver and his house I believe backs up to the Nestucca. Upon further review you could indeed throw a rock into the Nestucca from his back porch. Now how steep the bank is going down to the river I'm not sure, but hey I'm young I'll figure...
So I am new to the forum and to salmon and steelhead fishing in general so obviously I have a few questions. So I am thinking about making a trip out to the coast and fishing, and I am curious about how much public bank access there is on each river for somebody with only a car. There is a...
It's funny how the odds of things happening doesn't matter sometimes isn't it? I think I'd rather use my once in a million to on winning the Power Ball, but hey they make for great stories. I think I used my once in a million when I sneezed and blew my bank receipt out of my hand, and it flew...
So I was thinking about my fishing experiences as a child and young man. I remember fishing the potholes in eastern Washington in my youth with my dad and his friend. My dad's friend got bite and he set the hook and boke his line in the process. Well long story short I got a bite not 10 minutes...
As somebody that worked in the optical industry for number of years polarized lenes are the only way to go in sunglasses. If you have a choice of color in polarized lenses and you are not super light sensitive go brown. The yellow in the brow will increase contrast and will help you see fish...
ACTUALLY there are shortages pretty much constantly at food banks but I digress. I think we need to be honest though. Most poachers are not feeding their families, but are just jerks. Those who are poaching these planted trout or fish in general often are not just poaching just fish. Often...
