    Crabbing in Yaquina Bay

    A week ago my wife and I brought home one big dungy and 3 good rock crabs for a couple hours crabbing. Our one crab ring was full of small ones every time we pulled it. Many were just under the size limit.

    this is it this is it I've seen this more and more as I spend time on the bay. I'm not sure what they're doing either but they do hang out just under the surface with a flipper up like that. Maybe just playing or relaxing but I've seen them alone or with other sea lions doing it. Mike

    Shrimping on the oregon coast?

    Doesn't sound encouraging for recreational shrimping. I wouldn't quit on the idea, but it sounds like shrimp like deep water where it's dark and cold. Mike

    clam rake

    Back east they use a clam rake with built in basket on it. Plus lots of variations on the theme. They would be used in shallows and even from a boat in shallow water with a long handle. Anyone ever seen or used one out here? As far as I can tell from the ODFW regs there's no reason not to use...
