Why is that such a bad idea? The crabs survive, perhaps not as easily missing a claw but I bring them up all the time missing claws and sometimes many legs. In Florida you can ONLY take the claws of stone crabs. Whats the difference if you take the claw of a Pacific Rock crab? I'm not saying...
