    Red Owner Hooks

Yah, the gamakatsu seem to last WAY longer. I'm a little disappointed in Owner. I was curious if I got a bad batch or something.

    Red Owner Hooks

So has anyone had the same problem I did this year? I usually use gamakatsu 2/0 red hooks for back bouncing prawns, but this year I decided to try 2/0 red owner hooks. After fishing for 2-3 hours and re-baiting 6 times the red die/paint or whatever started coming off giving me a gold hook...

    Small Eggs

Thanks so much for the help. I'll probably use some now and save most for coho season.

    Small Eggs

Okay, so I've had pretty good luck on the Willamette this year for springers and I ended up saving the eggs (I cured them) out of the hens I've gotten and froze them. When I compare the eggs I have to the eggs sold in stores, my eggs are much smaller. Does this make any difference when float...

    Steelhead reels

I like the Abu Garcia 5501 C3. Not too expensive and it's woked really well for me over the past 5 years.

    Willamette River Coho 2009

I trolled around the mouth of the Tualatin a couple times (along with others) and only saw 2 caught. They were rolling all over the place, but we couldn't get anything to bite.

Coho salmon on the Columbia river

Thanks so much for the advice. As or right now you can keep anything fin-clipped and non-fin clipped chinook, right? (with only 1 being a chinook)

Coho salmon on the Columbia river

Columbia trolling Columbia trolling Do people troll around the I-205 bridge or is it all anchors? I've never fished the Columbia and hope to go out trolling a little next Monday. I have an anchor. Maybe I should bring it in case I can't find a spot to troll. Am I looking for 15-20 feet or...

Coho salmon on the Columbia river

I'm thinking about trolling in the Columbia a little after Aug 1 for whatever is in there (chinook, coho) and was wondering if any of you guys could post a picture of a typical setup that has a chance to catch either. I usually use prawns while trolling in the Willamette and caught some on some...

    Siletz Bay

Thanks so much. I have a 17 foot boat with trolling motor that I'm thinking about bringing. Do people use divers with the herring or do they use 4-6 ounce cannonballs and bounce it off the bottom? I have spinners and also have no problem using herring.

    Siletz Bay

I'm going to be in Lincoln City Aug 8-11. Are there any salmon/steelhead running up the mouth of the Slietz at that time? If so, any suggestions on what to use to catch them? Any help is much apprecaited. Thanks in advance.

    Spinners on the Clackamas

Yah, I was new to fishing on the Clack this year. I would usually fish the Sandy every now and then. I went into BC and bought around $80 worth of spinner parts (and I got 2 bags of hooks that were 2 hooks short each), and Bill didn't want to even tell me a park on the Clack to use them. I'd...
