Willamette between Newberg and the falls?

Do any steelhead hold up in this section once they get over the falls? This area is about 10 minutes form my office and I was thinking I might be able to do some late afternoon floats in the area. Are there any other fish that would be a good bet this time of the year? Sturgeon?

Anything that swims in the Willamette can be found in that stretch from trout to steelhead to sturgeon.

Can be found and decent fishing aren't exactly the same.

If I was really looking to catch fish - I'd probably be targeting sturgeon or carp. Still pretty cold for bass fishing. Steelhead are probably in water that needs a boat to fish effectively. I've heard of guys catching them at the park in Wilsonville - but haven't seen that first hand.

Worms and shrimp are what I find work best above the falls for sturgeon.

Thanks for the advice. I have a kayak I'm going to be fishing out of so I might try a couple of sections there.
