great running into Gulfstream out on the salt, we had a plastic navy out at Simpson Reef, at least 6 of us on kayaks, it was like the ocean had invited us to a 'fill the freezer' event.

ling bite was solid, I think the best among the kayakers was 34", I released several near 30" and a cabby, took home a 27" (7#) and 23" (hook tore it's belly), the 3 rockfish I got were loners near the bottom chasing squid, not many schools. The lingcod and cabbies were into herring.

West end of Simpson Reef

All 3 ocean crabs, right at 6.1875", full marks to the commercial guys out there releasing any under 6.25"!

Going to cook the small lingcod whole, crisp up the skin and dump spicy Thai lemongrass-ginger stir fry all over it.

But today it's San Francisco cioppino with crab and rockfish (lingcod just crumbles in soup/stews). All it needed was fresh razor clams and I punched those up Saturday just before sunset.
