The youngest filled his central Melrose doe tag yesterday.
Elk hunting was tough this season....very hot!!! The boys still had multiple bull encounters within 20 yds but no bull kills! Daniel got to spend a week hunting with his uncle over in the Northeast corner of the state.
In the end, he had to settle for a Rosie cow....Mmmm....grilled cow elk steaks cooked on the BBQ with Pop's secret sauce!

Thanks to those who are posting photos.....
I spent 4 hours hiking to and setting up to hunt a clear cut in the coast range last night. After two and a half hours of waiting for the shadows to fall I saw a dozen or so elk at the edge of the clear cut and then four guys in a pickup drove into the middle of the clearing and got out! I didn't know the road was there..... Needless to say the elk left and so did I. No deer for me yet.
