Shellrock lake

Tried for the Rock lakes, still too much snow. Managed to get to Hideaway and Shellrock lakes with the help of snowshoes (IN MID JUNE ). Didn't fish long, my fiance got cold and we had to get home. No fish.

The road to rock lakes is under lots of snow still several miles from the trail head. So we backtracked and shot for the Shellrock lake trail 700 that meets up with the rock lake trail. The road is blocked by a down tree about 3/4th of a mile before the Hideaway lake campground, which isn't a big deal as the road is impassible with snow just a couple hundred feet beyond right now.

The trail is followable to Shellrock lake but I totally lost the continuation on to Rock Lakes. The lake is 95% free of snow, still quite a bit along the shore though.

I've been to shellrock a few times, and have never seen a sign, no matter how small of fish. Does that lake have fish???

I've never been before. Signs at the trail head and books say it has fish. Who knows! Lots of salamanders though.
