Though I didn't have much luck a few weeks ago fishing the Rogue and N Umpqua, got lucky this labor day weekend catching a pair of fall run jacks on the Sacramento River in CA. There were about 30-40 guys throwing spinners off the bank, with 5 fish caught, and I was lucky enough to get a limit (2). I'm sure, nothing like the runs you guys have up there when they're on in full speed. This is the first time in a while that I've fished the Sac, as the last year was very slow, and the two years before that they closed the salmon season in CA down because of poor returns. Even the two seasons before that I had been skunked, because of poor returns. I was real happy to catch some salmon after such a long dry spell for me. Hopefully, the run is getting back to shape.
