Looking for rod/reel advice

Hi,I haven't fished for way too long,I will be fishing the Slaw for coho and nook.
Back in the day, I used an Abu 6501 on a Lami Kenai Killer,I want to go with a similar in price and quality spinning rig this time.
I am leaning toward a Shimano Stradic or a Shimano Spheros but I am not sure what size reel to get.
For the rod a medium priced Lamiglass will be good enough,North Fork or Loomis are probably more than I want to spend.
Your thoughts are most welcome,thanks.

My bad -- I thinks it's a 2500. I'm still stuck in the 90's when there was 1000,2000,3000.
