French Pete Campground

Took the family to go camping and a hole in the French Pete campground. Walk towards the water between sites 3 and 5. There's an obvious hole that's loaded with bos and brookies. I pulled in a respectable bo on a dryfly/float bubble. Some guy with a collapsable walked up and pulled in a 2 lb. brookie on carolina rig and PB (sigh). No action through the rest of the campground that I could tell.

Are you sure that was a brookie and not a bull trout?

No not sure, he managed to get it off the line and back into the water before I could see the dorsal. It could have been a small bull, I suppose.

I could be wrong but I don't think there's brookies in Cougar Res. Sounds like a fun trip though.

IDK about brookies being present either; but Cougar does have endangered/protected Bulls. So, good on the dude for releasing it.
