Bluegill are hot

Yesterday my friend and I pulled 30 fish out of Simpson Pond in Albany. Only 3 or 5 bass each but we were pulling bluegill out like they had never eaten. Worms and roostertails are the only things we ever use. The day before this, 6 of us went to Brower Rock and we all got 2 bluegill each. Lucky for me, my best friend happens to own one of those houses bordering the State Park.

Do you eat them out of there or just catch and release from Simpson. What's the average size?

ODFW said the water and fish both test clean, they say it is safe to eat what you catch. The bluegill were all small guys but the biggest bass this month was 5lbs.

Cool. I don't do too much warm water fishing but I have looked into going over there to check it out. Thanks. Welcome to OFF.

A 5lb. bucketmouth is a nice fish. Welcome to OFF and thanks for sharing.
